[EDIT: Much has changed in the days since this post originally went up. You can find all the current Half Ashed information HERE]
Good evening, folks! I hope you’ve all shaken the holiday haze and are off to a fantastic 2013. As you may be aware if you have been a regular Dogwatch Cigar Radio listener, Craig Schneider and I announced on their final episode that we are going to try our hand at producing a cigar podcast/show. Craig has been a frequent cohost on Dogwatch for the past few years, and brings an extensive knowledge of tobacco cultivation, processing, and subsequent development into the little bundles of joy we call cigars. He also has an extraordinarily well honed palate and a knack for communicating the inherent qualities of a cigar. Some of you already know who I am, but for those that don’t I’m essentially just a hillbilly that really (REALLY) digs cigars.
The show (tentatively titled Life Through Smoke) will be a fairly relaxed, informal discussion of news and events within the cigar industry, and will feature cigar reviews, interviews and plenty of opportunities for anyone to learn a little more about tobacco and the world of cigars – with a couple of twists and some unique content offerings that I believe will fill an empty niche in the cigar podcast world. In all likelihood, there will also be an occasional jaunt down a flyfishing, coffee, spirits, cars or sports rabbit trail just to spice things up a bit. Both Craig and I possess a great deal of appreciation for the community that exists within the hobby, and would love to build on that as we evolve this into something useful for any cigar enthusiast.
As we busily prepare to fire this project up, stay tuned and we will let you know here on The Cigarmy as soon as we are ready. We have much of the basic equipment and software to at least get the ball rolling (some of which will likely be subject to change, since we’re feeling our way around in the dark and don’t yet know what will/won’t work). Initially, at least, we’ll start by pushing the live (read: raw, unedited) show out via a Google Hangout tied to our Youtube Channel. Additionally, edited audio will be published here on The Cigarmy (and iTunes, etc.) through a followup post after each show’s editing is complete. That brings us to content…if you all have any questions, comments, or topics/items you’d like to see in a show – let us know! You can email me: firstname.lastname@example.org or Craig: email@example.com and we’ll try our best to put something worthwhile together that is useful to us all. So I hope you all will check back here often, or subscribe to The Cigarmy via the subscription box on the right side of this page and you will receive an email when the show is scheduled to begin (sometime in the near future, within a few weeks). As always, thanks for taking the time to visit The Cigarmy.
